In this era of leapfrog technological development, Advanced Manufacturing and Biomedical Engineering are reshaping the global paradigms of scientific discovery and technological innovation at an unprecedented pace. In this process, Artificial Intelligence (AI), as a core driving force, is not only deeply integrating into the innovation of research paradigms and the transformation of engineering practices but also emerging as a key engine for addressing global challenges and driving industrial upgrading and health system reform.

In 2023, Nanjing University and the Association of British Chinese Professors (ABCP) initiated and hosted the "World Academicians’ Forum on Advanced Science and Technology" (WAFAST), which has been successfully held for three sessions. From July 10 to 12, 2026, the 4th WAFAST will be held in Suzhou, China. Centered around the theme "Advanced Manufacturing & Biomedical Engineering: AI Empowering Future Industries and Health," the forum will gather the world’s leading scholars in the related fields to share the latest advances and future trends in these fields.
