Professor Jianguo Lin, FREng, MEAS, FHKAEng, FIMMM, FIMechE, CEng, is a Chair Professor in Materials Technologies at Hong Kong Polytechnical University, Hong Kong, and an Emeritus Professor of Imperial College London, UK. He is a Fellow of Royal Academy of Engineering (2013), Fellow of Hong Kong Academy of Engineering (2025), and Member of European Academy of Sciences (2017). His research expertise is in Metal forming, Materials and Process Modelling. He has published over 300 research papers in refereed international journals and over 20 patents, most of which have been taken by industry. He joined Hong Kong Polytechnic University in September 2024 from Imperial College London and continue the research on materials and process modelling and developed a number of innovative processes for forming light-alloy structural components, which are heavily used in industry.
